Kaz Hayat – Managing Director

Chartered Civil Engineer Kaz Hayat co-founded Trent Energy in 2010, bringing over three decades of experience delivering some of the UK’s most complex infrastructure projects. Early in his career, he played pivotal roles on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (High Speed 1), developing the tunnelling and project management expertise that later saw him take senior leadership positions with Skanska, Costain, and VolkerFitzpatrick.

At Trent Energy, Kaz has led the transformation of a civil engineering contractor into a full-service provider of district heating and facilities management solutions. Under his leadership, the company has delivered flagship schemes at Queen Elizabeth Park and Greenwich Peninsula and forged international partnerships with Swedish and Danish firms to bring advanced European DH technology to the UK market.

As Managing Director, Kaz remains closely involved in operations, overseeing project delivery, building long-term client relationships, and steering the company’s growth strategy. Beyond day-to-day leadership, he is a regular speaker at industry forums on the future of heat networks, where he shares insights and champions best practice across the sector.
